Jackson Dawson is looking for a Network Administrator to facilitate IT and network needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor computer networks and systems including hardware, software.
- Provide local and remote administration of client IT infrastructure including Servers, networking, storage systems, printers, and desktops.
- Network Security Management including VPN administration and Cybersecurity best practices while keeping virus protection software up to date
- Installing and configuring network equipment, updating or fix hardware or software issues.
- Perform all Tiers of support with the ability to escalate in an efficient manner,
- Configure and maintain and manage business continuity and disaster recovery platforms.
- Documentation of support procedures, and network configurations
- Other IT related assignments & projects as required.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
- Conduct basic to intermediate Server troubleshooting and setup.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
- Develop, maintain, and document installation and configuration procedures.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting and triage.
- Maintain facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers (local and network printers).
- Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems.
- Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, firewalls, smartphones, tablets, software deployment, security updates and patches.
- Act as point of contact with vendors and agents of third-party software and hardware providers and their technical support teams when necessary.
- Shift working hours as needed for scheduled overnight maintenance and upgrades as well as for unplanned critical system emergencies/failures to maintain emergency 911 operations.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificates in Information Technology or similar
- 5- 10 years Industry experience as a Network Administrator or Systems Admin
- Network Administration and architecture
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and network management
- WAN technologies and protocols
- Familiarity with switches and Sophos Firewalls including creating, troubleshooting, and segmenting networks (VLANS, Subnetting)
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Server roles
- Configuration, supporting, and routine maintenance for server environments (VMware)
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and managing Microsoft products (including but not limited to Windows 7, Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365)
- Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer expectations
- Ability to understand and explain technical information to all types of audiences
- Understanding of security and segregation of duty requirements for an enterprise system
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V (Virtualization and Cross-Site Replication)
- Including creating and managing virtual machines
- Experience with Active Directory User Administration
- Exchange (email) Server Administration
- Working knowledge of RAID technologies
- Experience managing multi-site deployments utilizing site-to-site VPNs to make company resources available across multiple geographic locations
- Experience with VoIP technologies
